Nicole Pisaniello

is a fantasy artist whose work blends the beautiful with the grotesque, drawing on elements of fairy tales and folk horror for inspiration. She enjoys toiling for hours with pen and ink and watercolor to explore delicate textures within each piece, and it is her belief that much of her artistic insanity comes from being exposed to the works of Brian Froud, David Bowie, and Tim Curry at too young an age. Nicole has been published in 'Infected by Art' volumes 8 and 10, shown her work in galleries and in two solo shows at the Edgar Allan Poe Museum. Currently she is working with the "Joy of Faeries" team to illustrate two of their character books.

In her spare time, Nicole teaches and performs aerial circus with Host of Sparrows. She sometimes works as a professional Faerie or Goblin. And in 2013 she co-founded RVA Krampusnacht, which she still continues to help organize. She and her partner Travis share a home in Richmond, Virginia with their four brilliant cat-children, Pyramus, Thisbe, Ludo, and Half-Stache.

You can contact Nicole for freelance illustration work as well as commissions.
